 NFN Awards

July 25, 2001

The following special awards have been created by the NFN Board of Directors as ways of recognizing the contributions of our volunteers.

The following awards are given annually at the Annual General Meeting:

President's Award

This award is to recognize the activities of a board member who, through various activities, has shown a broad perspective in leadership within the organization. The following criteria apply in selecting the recipient:

Leadership via committee work with other volunteers
Broad perspective of the Organization
Visionary

The recipient is chosen by the current President.

NFN Webmaster's Award

This award serves to recognize the outstanding work of a member of the Web team. The following criteria apply in the selection of the recipient:

Notable Center web site - Innovative
Frequent updates of web content and design
Number of hits as reported in NFN
Statistics/Community Focus of the pages

The recipient is chosen by the NFN Webmaster in conjunction with the Information Provider Chair.

NFN Volunteer of the Year

This award is granted to an outstanding NFN Volunteer. The following criteria apply in selecting the recipient:

Hours of service
Dedication
Congeniality
Length of Service (Minimum 1 year)

This award is voted on by the Board of Directors upon the recommendation of the Executive Committee.

All three awards are symbolized by an engraved plaque designating the title of the award and the recipient’s name with the year awarded.

Volunteer Appreciation Certificates

Each NFN volunteer is recognized annually with the presentation of an individually inscribed certificate of appreciation signed by the President and expressing the appreciation of the organization for the individual’s contributions

NFN Volunteer of the Month

Each month the President of NFN will name an NFN Volunteer of the Month. This volunteer will be recognized by having their name and contributions published on the NFN Organizational pages and in a press release. The person will also receive a appropriately inscribed personal certificate signed by the President.

NFN Distinguished Service Award

This award is designed to recognize unusual personal contributions to the NFN. This award is voted on by the Board of Directors upon the recommendation of the Executive Committee and/or President.

The distinguished service award is symbolized by an engraved plaque designating the title of the award and the recipient’s name with the year awarded.
